Peru Spring 2013 Day 2

With the late arrival and late to bed we slept fairly late into the morning before we got moving. When we did we walked out to San Isidro where we stopped and got some ice cream before heading to the olive tree park (Bosque de Olivar) to just sit and talk and have a nice sunny afternoon. After a while we were decided to get lunch (which probably turned out to be dinner at a fish restaurant called Punta Sal. We did a cold fish sampler which had ceviche, tiradito and pulpo (which is octopus!) among a few other things. We also got a dish which was fish crochets breaded in quinoa and deep fried and served with a sauce made from a Peruvian fruit called aguaymanto.  This was honestly surprisingly good and though it was sort of more a finger food than fine dining I was very happy to have it. The breading was not oily at all and it was all very tasty.

After the restaurant we took a slow walk back to the apartment and relaxed for a while before going out to shop for snacks for the night because Daniela's sister Donna and her boyfriend German were coming over for the evening to meet me I am sure and have a nice night.  We played a couple games of a cheap reproduction of Jenga (which we did manage to get surprisingly high one game even though the blocks were all slightly different) then played a couple games of darts with a magnetic dartboard (which really helped me think in Spanish numbers). We had a couple beers along the night and a few snacks. It was very late when they left and we pretty much went right to bed after they were gone.

The pictures from today are located here.
