Less than 2 Months to Japan 2010

It's amazing how fast time passes. The holidays are gone and we're almost a full month into 2010 already. We have reached the point where the 2010 trip to Japan is less than 2 months away. I am having us buy our rail passes this week. It appears they will be a tad more expensive than I had wished but still it will be worth it to get 2 week Green Car passes for what we need to do.

It appears the group will be Brien, Ronni and myself at this point. George has a slim chance of being in Japan for work during our time there but it is unlikely. If he does manage it then we will try to meet up with him at least for a dinner. I have the itinerary mostly set at this point and as mentioned before we've already booked our hotels. The major purchase left is the rail pass and I am searching around for the best price. It seems that in general our weaker dollar is going to kill us a bit though. There is little hope for it to recover vs. the yen in time for our trip with the way things are going so we're going to just have to suck it up and deal with it.

Usually the 2 month mark is when I really start to get going on a trip and I hope to be posting bits of our itinerary over the next few weeks.

2010 Winter Classic

Ok, so it's not really a travel thing but still it was a significant event for me. Thanks to my brother Gary's boss Nabil we were able to get bleacher seats to the Winter Classic in Fenway park. The event and spectacle was all it was hyped up to be but the seats were obviously far away from the ice. We could still see ok for the most part though. I took some pics during the course of the day. The real let down was they didn't warn us the stealth bomber was going to be flying overhead at all so my picture of it was not the best.

I posted the pictures here.
